First Day of "Tindergarten"

Today our baby is officially not a baby anymore. She started kindergarten, or as Bella would say, "Tindergarten." After two weeks of frantically making lists, shopping, checking lists twice, and shopping again, we assembled and labeled all of the necessary supplies. And it seems that we've fallen prey to the fact that all of our hard earned dollars are already going to the school.

Bella is so excited to be there and we are excited for her. The Lord truly works in miraculous ways, as I never thought I'd have the strength for today. For every birthday since Bella's been born, I've always found solace in the fact that I had "x" years left before she had to go school. This past March (her 5th birthday), I felt my heart start to ache; however, over the summer, the Lord pointed out the signs that it was her time and thus calmed my heart to this reality. So I entered today with a happy and peaceful heart as I hugged and kissed her goodbye (although they still were long, hard hugs)....But to be completely truthful, I did shed some tears last night after she went to bed.

While she's over-the-moon excited with going off to school and "getting away from Lily," she asked us this morning if she had to take Spanish because she didn't know much Spanish. She still learning that the teachers are there to teach. When we met her Spanish teacher at open house earlier this week, I explained how Bella has always put a suffix of "ichimos" on the end of her words to make them "Spanish." For example, "couchichimos" would be Spanish for couch. The teacher got a tickle out of that, as do Jason and I. But on her way out, Bella said, "Adios," just like a pro.

Below are our pictures of the big morning, and as I sign off, I'll be on my may to pick her up. I can't wait to see what she has to say. We'll keep you posted on how it went!

Fishback is the actual name.)

Lily had enough of Bella's attention and demanded her own picture be taken:
