So far so good on the Bella-in-kindergarten front. Upon getting the car after her first day, she was so hungry and tired. She actually asked to go bed that night! And she's fallen immediately asleep every night since then, which in and of itself is a miraculous feat, considering for years she has wandered out to the living room at least twice after we've put her to bed, dragging the whole process out for a couple of hours. We are so thankful for the extra time we have each evening now.
The best moment of her first day, for me at least, was when I opened her backpack and found a lot of her school supplies. She said she tried to bring all her supplies home and she got "in trouble" with her teacher because of it. I explained that supplies must stay in her desk and that she wasn't in trouble, but being informed of the rules. She could not, for the life of her, understand why she couldn't bring her Tinker Bell notebook and other supplies home because, "They're so pretty." So I inquired of the extra supplies stashed in the front pocket of her backpack. She replied, "Well, the teacher didn't look in there." Too funny!
For all of the avid fishermen, J had a tournament Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. It rained all day on Saturday, and all night that night. We're talking inches of rain accumulation in a 24-hour period. This was J's second all night tournament (of which it rained and stormed pretty heavily on the first one, too). But, it was worth it in that he came in 3rd! He out-fished his boater, again, and brought in over 2 lbs., which for an all night flood fest is pretty good. We'll post his ranks for the year when we get them.
