Hi Blog Readers! Just checking in with y'all to give you the latest...Jason's test is 7 days away. Be thinking of him next Friday while he's in Little Rock. We will be so thankful when this blasted exam is over! He promises to blog when he gets through this and can see outside the box again.
In other news, everyone is doing great. We really can't complain. I am in the process of sewing Isabella a cheerleader uniform for Halloween. My first real sewing-from-a-pattern project. The whole concept was very daunting at first, but now things are moving right along. I'll be sure to post pics when I'm done. I remember when I was Bella's age and my mom sewed me an Indian costume. I thought it was the coolest thing, and she still has the handmade raw leather skirt. It's priceless. Between sewing and knitting, my free time is pretty much accounted for these days.
We got Lily a dragon costume for Halloween. We hope we get to finally take her out trick-or-treating this year. Her first year, she was way too little (only 6 weeks old), and last year she was at the tail end of a virus, so she stayed home. We can't wait to see her little expressions on the whole tradition. She seems wary of her costume right now, but hopefully, she'll warm up to it.
Jason and I plan on being Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. We got our costumes last year but weren't able to go together (aforementioned virus). So we're dusting them off for the big debut. J's costume is hilarious and I can't wait to post pics of him in it!
Last weekend we took them to the Right Choices corn maze in Missouri. It is an awesome place to celebrate the season: giant corn maze, pumpkins, hay rides, games, slides, a corn cannon (yes, you heard right...big air guns and cobs of field corn make for great fun), hot chocolate...you name it, they got it. If you are ever in the area, go there for some autumn fun! They had huge tire swings rigged up on trees and we had a blast with those. Lily LOVED it! She was too little to sit in the tire, so she sat on top of the tire and held on to the chain. Get that girl on a swing and plan to be there for awhile.
The weather's changing here (finally!), and I am loving it! Brisk in the mornings and beautiful in the afternoons...fall is by far my favorite season.
