The Big 2

After a long delay in posting (sorry, everyone), I'm finally pleased to be able to post pics from Lily's 2nd birthday party, which was a day in Play-doh Heaven. We invited all of Lily and Bella's friends over for a Play-doh party. Jason instructed me to buy "a lot" of Play-doh, so I did...I figured we'd have 7 kids and wound up with 12 cans of Play-doh.

When J got home and looked at my purchases, he turned to me with this incredulous look on his face and said, "That's it?" I explained my calculations and he said, "No, no, no...we need more Play-doh; we're talking mountains of Play-doh here..." So back to the store I went. All-in-all, we wound up with over 25 cans of Play-doh and an easy hundred or so Play-doh toys for approximately 8 children. We borrowed some tables and chairs from our office and set up shop in the garage.

I'm telling you, Parents, take note: This was, by far, one of my most favorite parties for the kiddos. Everything stayed in the garage...Play-doh, cake, toys, etc. When they got sick of Play-doh, they drug all the outside toys in the yard. Kids were only allowed inside for potty breaks and to open presents. It was the easiest party we've thrown. Clean up was a breeze, and my house stayed in tact...awesome! Moral of the story: Never underestimate the power of Play-doh (or my husband's brilliant ideas, for this was all him and he deserves all the credit!).

Enjoy the pics!

"Check out that cake, guys!"

She totally can't keep her eyes off the cake...
Another Mom tip: Cupcake cakes are the best...no mess, no knives, easiest cleanup ever!

J's contribution to the party...a hand-crafted Play-doh castle, complete with turrets, parapets, and a moat.

How precious is this??

Playing with her two favorite things: Fairy wings and fishing poles. Her daddy got her a brand new fishing pole and tackle box, complete with bobbers, rubber worms, and hooks. (The pole in the pic is a different toy.)

Sunday, after their dedication (see other post), Lily decided to take a break from big-wheelin' it and play some chalk.
